Dear Marlon, When my wife, daughter, son-in-law and I walked over to Black Rock Desserts & Creamery to enjoy your WONDERFULLY DELICIOUS ICE CREAM the day our daughter’s contractions started, you were incredibly accommodating and made our evening absolutely unforgettable - with out-of-this-world strawberry and cherry/chocolate ice cream cups, and with a sincere kindness that showed us a heart of gold. THANK YOU! We’ll definitely be frequenting Black Rock and recommending it often to friends and family.

Black Rock is a truly outstanding place to visit if you want a totally fun and indulgent dessert. My family of four visited and order the Trash Fence, and while eating it you’ll feel like the happiest dang trash panda with the tastiest can of sinful delights on the planet. As you can see from the photos it was utterly wild. It is your five year old self’s dream of the ideal sundae/milkshake thing, in which you point at everything in the store and hit the go button. It’s the equivalent of Candyland in a glass and it is divine. It’s a take no prisoners, not for the faint of heart, mountain of sin in a glass. Enjoy it if you dare the sugar shock—should come with a warning label. Happy eating trash pandas!

I went to Black Rock Desserts with my friend Frankie and had just a wonderfully time, this is a great place to take your family too ! This place is a family business and everybody helps out serving their customers. I can't say enough praise for this family and the effort they make to make you feel at home, just a great family ! There is seating inside and outside, you can socialize with your loved ones in a great atmosphere, the ambiance is down to earth. Now about the ice-cream, find out for yourself, you will not be disappointed! There's a variety of splendid flavors to choose from, your taste buds will thank you. I got to meet Glenda and Marlon's father Fausto who actually offered to pick up my friend Frankie, who is disabled. At the end of the evening, Glenda helped me get my friend into my car, thank you Glenda!

Super friendly and helpful staff, extremely reasonable prices for the amount you get. The double scoop was shockingly huge compared to most independent ice cream shops in Reno. And the flavors were great too! Banana as well as waffles and syrup for me

Loved Black Rock! All the ice cream is homemade and the owner was so nice. He let me sample almost all of them, really fantastic. Some unique flavors like turmeric and lavender chocolate, both were delicious. Highly recommended!!!

The ice cream here is to DIE for!!! I absolutely loved it here. Even though there was only one gentleman handling the register and serving at the same time the customer service was great. It’s a really nice place great if you have a sweet tooth or kids. I got the dust storm shake and my boyfriend got a scoop of the Cinnamon Toast Crunch ice cream. I really enjoyed it here and will definitely come back once I’m in the area

Located at 100 California Ave #106 in Reno, Black Rock Desserts and Creamery stands out as a unique gem for dessert lovers. This family-run creamery captures hearts with its inviting, family-friendly atmosphere and an impressive menu of ice cream creations that go beyond the ordinary. The first thing you notice is how the place feels like a warm gathering spot, complete with board games to enjoy as you indulge. It’s not just a dessert stop; it’s a communal experience where service is marked by genuine kindness and care.

What truly sets Black Rock apart are its inventive milkshakes and extravagant sundaes. One standout dessert, famously known as the Trash Fence, is a towering tribute to childhood dreams—an unapologetically wild, sugar-packed concoction bursting with candy, ice cream, and playful chaos in a glass. Tasting it is like diving headfirst into a whimsical Candyland, a challenge for any sugar lover daring enough to embrace the intense sweetness. The flavors are rich, bold, and indulgent, fully justifying the hearty portions and reasonable pricing that customers rave about.

Beyond the creative desserts, the flavor variety here is remarkable. From classic favorites to surprising combos like banana with waffles and syrup, every scoop exhibits a dedication to quality and boldness. The double scoops themselves impress with generous serving sizes that defy typical independent ice cream shops. While the taste excites the palate, the warm hospitality, highlighted repeatedly in customer experiences, adds an emotional richness to the visit. Stories of the family stepping in to assist customers, and the sense of genuine community, make the experience memorable beyond the food.

In sum, Black Rock Desserts and Creamery offers more than just ice cream; it serves up joy, creativity, and heartfelt connection. It’s the kind of place that invites you to relax, indulge, and create new memories with every scoop and smile. For anyone seeking a bold, fun, and wholesome dessert adventure, this Reno treasure hits every mark with excellence.
